Standard Chartered announces new North East Asia head

Standard Chartered has appointed Sridhar Kanthadai as its new regional head of transaction banking for North East Asia. Sridhar is based in Hong Kong and formally assumed his new position on 15 October 2012, reporting to Jiten Arora, global head of sales, transaction banking and to Darcy Lai, regional head of origination and client coverage for North East Asia.

Sridhar joins Standard Chartered from Citi where he has held a number of senior positions, most recently as managing director of head of treasury and trade solutions, Asia Pacific.

In his new role, Sridhar will be responsible for the strategic direction, management and development of Standard Chartered’s transaction banking team in North East Asia, further innovating and improving their wide range of customised solutions in cash management, trade finance, securities and RMB settlement services.

Commenting on Sridhar’s appointment, Jiten said: “Sridhar’s vast experience in senior positions, expertise in transaction banking, and deep global and local operating knowledge will be an excellent addition to our team.”
